Welcome to the Directorate for Research Support,Dissemination and Uptake. The directorate is Kenyatta University’s institutional unit in the Division of Research, Outreach and Innovation (RIO) mandated to capacity build researchers with strategies, skills and interest to translate their research knowledge, published materials and evidence-based interventions into a product that is user-friendly to targeted stakeholder, users and audiences.

Introduction KU has enormous potential for high quality research in the large number of qualified staff in diverse areas of specialization, modern infrastructure and facilities, and strong collaborations established globally. The Directorate’s goal is to harness the potential through implementation of skills development activities and promoting best practices in grant writing and management, among other activities. |

Vision
Propel Kenyatta University to leadership in research productivity through effective grants acquisition and research capacity development.
Mission
To develop KU’s research capacity and competitiveness for external grants funding.
Specific mandatesSource for and provide information on funding sources and requirements.
Organize and conduct proposal writing workshops.
Coordinate the development of large, multi-disciplinary university research proposals
Coordinate internal review of grant applications in response to funding announcements
Oversee reporting of research progress and funder satisfaction on project completion.
Coordinate the establishment of university research skills and capacity inventories
Organize training to update staff knowledge and skills on research methods.
Building research capacity of academic staff to enhance teaching and supervision of postgraduate students.
Develop and strengthen research partnerships nationally and internationally
Work closely with directorates, departments, schools & colleges to enhance research in KU.
